Western Nevada County COAD Meeting #4

Wednesday, March 18th, 3pm – 4:30pm

VIRTUAL MEETING: Please register below to receive a Zoom link

A COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster) is a consortium of non‐profit, community-based, and faith‐based organizations whose goal is to facilitate service to those imperiled, impaired, or impacted by local disaster. A COAD works to improve resource sharing and communication, and to eliminate duplication of efforts in all phases of disaster preparedness and emergency management.

At our first two meetings, we started identifying what our community needs before, during, and after a disaster, and which organizations have resources or services that could be useful. We also explored how we might work together under a COAD, with Nevada County Office of Emergency Services, to meet unmet needs.

At Meeting #3 we shared the outline of the blueprint for a COAD in Western Nevada County. This final meeting of potential COAD participants (Meeting #4) will provide an opportunity for all of you to give feedback on the blueprint. A COAD Manager, under the direction of an Advisory Committee, will use this blueprint to stand up our COAD in Western Nevada County.
